Cloud lights by David Trubridge

David Trubridge’s Cloud lights were first launched in 2008 as part of the Spiral Islands installation of matching lights and settees. This was inspired by the clouds that David saw sitting over small islands all over the Pacific Ocean, which were used by Polynesian navigators to find islands from afar. Cloud lights were originally made with frosted plastic but were later discontinued due to the negative environmental impact of the material. Cloud has now been given a second chance through a new material. The new version is made almost entirely of bamboo plywood applied in the same strips or rings. This allows light to shine through while offering a similar visual lightness as the former translucent plastic version. Made from sustainably grown bamboo plywood. (Sourced from an FSC accredited factory) Illuminated by an E27 Lamp of your choice (not included)   Finishes available: Bamboo White Paint (two sides), Black Paint (two sides); Bamboo (on one side) with choice of Aqua, Black, Blue, Lime, Orange, Pink, Red or White. Paint colours are commonly faced on the interior of light shade. The Cloud light is available in TWO sizes; Small: Width: 1250mm (49”) x  Length: 1250mm (49”) x Height: 450mm (18”) Large: Length: 1717mm (68”) x Width: 987mm (39”) x Height: 475mm (19”)   NOTE: Cloud lights are supplied in kitset form. Lead time on the painted Cloud Lights can be up to 6 weeks. As bamboo is a natural material this light is suitable for dry interior spaces only.
